ALIEN INVADER (Abajian, G) Dip (Crystal Blue Persuasion X Wildest Dreams) 4 ½”,SEV, 28”, E ,Re , BC 30, 4-way branching. $85

ALIIEN INVADER, a sibling to LEDGEWOOD’S CALICO BLUES, is a cascade unusual form with a unique look that reminds me of a windmill. The petals have a base color of light pale lavender, with a violet blue-layered eye that extends nearly to the petals edge. The sepals echo and complement the color of the petals. A very large lacquered green throat dominates the center of the bloom. Early bloomer, well branched, with a high bud count and very fertile both ways.

CANDLELIT NIGHT (Abajian, G) TET,(Forsyth Comanche X Sdlg.) 6”, SEV, 28”,EM, Re, BC 25, 3-way branching.  $75

CANDLELIT NIGHT is a showy, diamond dusted, apricot peach flower, with heavy gold edged ruffling that goes all the way down to a green throat. Heavy substance with wax like petals and sepals. Vigorous rebloomer and fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S GABRIELLE (Abajian, G) TET  (Sabine Baur X Sdlg.) 5 ¼”, SEV, 28”, EM, Re, BC 20, 3-way branching. $100

LEDGEWOOD’S GABRIELLE is our biggest and boldest expression of a near black eye on a creamy white flower. This exceptionally large eye nearly covers the whole flower. The petals carry a matching , ruffled, picotee edge. An intense green throat complements the large dark eye. This dramatic daylily, named in memory of my oldest daughter, is sun fast with heavy substance and an excellent parent. Fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S PANSY EYE (Abajian, G) TET (Sabine Baur X Sdlg.) 6 ¾”,SEV, 29”, EM, Re, BC 18, 3-way branching. $175

LEDGEWOOD’S PANSY EYE has been eagerly awaited for since its maiden bloom. This is probably my most strikingly beautiful eyed flower that I have bred to date. Base color is a pale, soft lilac. The large saturated concord grape eye covers most of the petal surface. Wide ruffled edges, echoing the eye color, are outlined in cream. An enormous deep green throat spills out onto the petals. A phenomenal parent, giving sensational kids with eyes and edges of violet blue, lavender pink, and concord grape. Its unique coloration, makes it an impressive garden flower and a must for the hybridizer that breeds for eyes and edges. Fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S CITATION (Abajian, G) TET (Sweet Temptation X Sunkissed Breeze) 6½”,SEV, 27”, EM Re, BC 28, 4-way branching. $100

This is not just an ordinary yellow! LEDGEWOOD’S CITATION is a very large, round, ruffled, and heavily substanced flower with a maiden bloom of 9” that settled down to a consistent 6 ½” to 7” size. Ruffled gold edges, almost 1” wide, surround the petals. A deep green throat provides the final accent. Fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S EVENING SUNSET (Abajian, G)TET (Raspberry Beret X Flash of Brilliance) 6”, SEV, 23”, EM, Re, BC 20, 3-way branching. $55

LEDGEWOOD’S EVENING SUNSET is reminiscent of a large crepe paper flower. The blooms have a light creamy orange base color accented with a hot multiple colored eye pattern of raspberry and deep gold. Heavily ruffled edges match the complex eye pattern. The green throat fans out into the bloom. Great parent for eyes and edges. Fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S HIDDEN HEART (Abajian, G) TET, 6’, SEV, 24”, EM, Re, BC 20, 3-way branching. $75

LEDGEWOOD’S HIDDEN HEART presents a beautiful garden picture with creamy white flowers and fascinating, heart-like, layered violet blue eye pattern set above a green throat. Rainbow patterned sepals and picotee edged petals, complete the picture. Vigorous grower and easily fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S ORIENTAL SILK (Abajian, G) TET , 5 ¾”, SEV, 22”, EM, Re, BC 20, 3-way branching. $75

LEDGEWOOD’S ORIENTAL SILK, as its name implies, reminds me of exotic, shimmering, oriental silk fabric. This heavily textured silk like flower has a base color of light violet and ruffles trimmed with a thin double edge of cranberry and cream. A double banded, unique shaped, eye pattern of cranberry and gold is set above a deep green throat. A standout in the garden and fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S STOLEN DREAMS (Abajian, G) TET (Extra Terrestrial X Sdlg.) 7”, SEV, 25”,EM, Re, BC 23, 4-way branching. $100

LEDGEWOOD’S STOLEN DREAMS is one of my personal favorites and a great flower. This large flower is creamy white with a painted on violet/blue eye. The color in the sepals glow like a rainbow with multiple shades of violet blue, silver gray, and magenta, The large green throat bleeds into the petals and sepals. Nicknamed the “floater”, on hot days the petals separate from the sepals giving it a 3-D effect. A sensational flower that I have bred to UF’s and full forms with exceptional results. Fertile both ways.

LEDGEWOOD’S CALICO BLUES (Abajian, G) Dip (Crystal Blue Persuasion X Wildest Dreams) 3 ¾”,SEV, 27”, E, Re, BC 25, 4-way branching.  $85

The introduction of LEDGEWOOD’S CALICO BLUES has been anxiously awaited by many of our garden visitors. We had to wait an additional year to make sure that the anticipated demand could be met. We always thought of LEDGEWOOD’S CALICO BLUES as a mini-UF since its petals and sepals twist and turn. Since it is slightly larger than a mini, I registered it as a small flower. This exquisite bloom is a pale vanilla cream with an explosive layered blue violet eye, outlined in magenta, that covers most of the flower face. The sepals have an unusual pattern of blue violet, outlined in magenta, that compliments the petals. A large lacquered citron-green throat, beautifully accents this unique flower. Well branched with a high bud count and sinfully fertile. Every pollination results in a pod with outstanding results. An early bloomer, LEDGEWOOD’S CALICO BLUES, reblooms continually throughout the summer.

NINA VERHAERT (Abajian, G) TET (Fortunes Dearest X Crocodile Smile) 6½”,SEV,28”, EM,Re,BC 20, 3-way branching. $175

The picture says it all. Named after Francois Verhaert’s youngest daughter, this extraordinary flower was an instant hit with our garden visitors. NINA VERHAERT is a large, distinctive, red flower surrounded with snow-white teeth on petals and sepals above a large lacquered green throat. NINA VERHAERT is pod and pollen fertile, and it’s kids look super.

SACRED GROUND (Abajian, G) TET, 5 ½”, SEV, 30”, EM, Re. BC 22, 3-way branching.  $55

SACRED GROUND is a full formed flower with wide overlapping petals and blunt sepals. The light lavender /lilac color with a chalky white-eye pattern above a green throat, presents a unique effect. The ruffled petals are trimmed in chalky white. A tall stately flower much admired for its color combination. Pod and pollen fertile.

WINTER WOLF (Abajian, G) TET (Julie Newmar X Gerda Brooker) 7”, SEV, 30”, EM, Re, BC 21, 3-way branching. $75

The base color of WINTER WOLF is cream with lavender highlights. The striking lavender blue eye, with darker blue veining bleeds into the base color. Picotee edge of lavender blue above a green throat completes the picture. WINTER WOLF is an important part of my breeding program to impart the strong lavender blue eyes to unusual and full formed cultivars. A wonderful parent, great garden flower and easily fertile both ways.
