ledgewood's tropical butterfly

previous page

ledgewood’s tropical butterfly (abajian, g) tet (extraterrestrial x seedling) 6 ¾”, sev, 25”, em, re, bc 21, 4-way branching. $50 cl

this has got to be my all time favorite flower. the petals are pinched at the throat and then flair out like the wings of a butterfly. the eye color has multiple layers of grape, lavender, and blue with an outer edge of magenta (the latter not visible in the picture). the lavender blue picotee edge goes all the way around the petals into a green throat. i have used this flower on my spiders, uf’s, and also my full-formed flowers. this cultivar is more reminiscent of an orchid than a daylily. just a stunning flower. pod and pollen fertile.
